Louisa Gagliardi's digital paintings are bathed in a dim, bluish screen light. Their murky avatar aesthetic reduces the plasticity of painting, perfected in the Renaissance, and returns it to the two-dimensionality of a digital experiential world associated with anxiety, loneliness and the loss of physical experience. 
The one-hour talk will introduce the work of Swiss artist Louisa Gagliardi, whose solo exhibition Deep Breaths is currently on view at CC Strombeek.
