Peter Lindbergh believed that “beauty is having the courage to be yourself”. This is reflected in his memorable black and white cinematic images, which have had an enduring influence on fashion photography. Major fashion brands and magazines collaborated with Lindbergh during his distinguished career, while the permanent collections of art museums and prestigious exhibitions around the world are proud to feature his work. An intimate exhibition, untold stories pays tribute to Lindbergh’s life and work (1944-2019). Not long before his untimely death in September 2019, he personally curated the selection of photographs. By mixing images from different decades and regrouping them, Lindbergh achieved new interpretations and associations, in effect creating new stories: untold stories.
