Samuel Yal (I)
Yal often works with fragments and fragmentation. The bodies and faces are roughed up: taken on the edge of a profound mutation. Some pieces simply contain a cluster of corals and lichens, here an ear, there the end of a breast: Samuel Yal says this is what one would find inside one of his sculptures if one broke it . Remains of a past life or first elements, matrices, of another, in recemposition?
